Jona came to the city from a small town in Southern Illinois to pursue a degree in theater at Columbia College Chicago.  After one semester, she found her niche instead in a writing class, and now holds a BFA in Fiction Writing.  Her favorite authors are John Cheever, Amy Hempel, Jeffrey Eugenides, and Z.Z. Packer.  She loves short stories, but if she is bored or procrastinating, you might just see her with a copy of US Weekly in her hand...someone else’s, of course…
