This just came in our Inbox from the Council of Literary Magazines and Presses, so if you happen to be in New York at the beginning of November, take a look at this. They have some great names on the marquee.
Dear Friend of CLMP,
Last year we inaugurated a new conference to serve writers of fiction, poetry, and literary nonfiction. Rather than address the craft of writing, this conference brought together professionals from throughout the publishing community to help literary writers maneuver in the marketplace. It was a smashing success, and our second annual LWC}NYC (Literary Writers Conference in New York City) will again take place this coming November 8 - 10 at The New School in NYC.
The many presenters include editors, publishers, and marketing/PR professionals from Knopf, Random House, Publishers Weekly, HarperCollins, Algonquin, Soft Skull/Counterpoint, The New Yorker, and elsewhere; literary agents Sobel Weber Associates, Donadio & Olson, The Gernert Company, and Irene Skolnick Agency; and a host of authors on the business of being a writer, among them Richard Russo, Ishmael Beah, Myla Goldberg, Mark Doty, and Susan Orlean.
