Sunday Salon – October 26

Check out the next Sunday Salon on October 26, where StoryStudio instructor Melanie Pappadis will host an exciting lineup of readers.

Allison Amend received her MFA from the University of Iowa and has had her work featured in One Story, Black Warrior Review, StoryQuarterly, Bellevue Literary Review, and the Atlantic Monthly, among other publications.  Her debut short story collection, “Things That Pass for Love,” was published in October 2008 by OV Books.

Mickey Hess is an assistant professor of English at Rider University. His books include “Icons of Hip Hop: An Encyclopedia of the Music, Movement, and Culture” and “Is Hop Hop Dead? The Past, Present, and Future of America’s Most Wanted Music”

Sharon Solwitz’s short story collection, “Blood and Milk,” received the 1997 Carl Sandberg award, among other honors. Her stories have been published widely, and their awards include the Pushcart, the Nelson Algren, and the Katherine Ann Porter. 

The Sunday Salon is held at the Charleston Bar, 2079 N. Hoyne, at 7:30 pm the last Sunday of the month.  Hope to see you there!
