The Chicago Humanities Festival will soon be here, so get your tickets now.
From October 3 to November 16, the city will host dozens of writers and artists at various venues, from Hyde Park to the Loop. Among the highlights:
Pulitzer Prize-winning writer and historian David McCullough
Francine Prose, reading from her latest novel, “Golden Grove.”
The International Writing Program at the University of Iowa will host a panel on writing in a globalized world.
Leonard Marcus and Audrey Niffenegger discussing children’s books
And definitely go see Mark Salzman discuss writer’s block: apparently, after working on one of his novels for five years, he became so stuck that he could only write wearing a tinfoil skit and a towel draped over his head.
