I am looking for suggestions for places to go to observe people and listen to their conversations, and not be observed myself.  Does anyone have any ideas?  This will be for ideas and characters and dialog for writing.

O’Hare or Midway airport in one of the more traditional dining venues.

A window seat at a coffee shop.  You can pretend to be reading your book, while quietly observing the people and their dialogue.  I also really like public transportation.  I hear all sorts of strange strings of conversations from the high school kids that are on the morning bus with me.
